Why Our Beef Is Frozen (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

Why Our Beef Is Frozen (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

If you’ve ever walked into The Market and wondered why all of our beef is frozen, you’re not alone.

A lot of people assume “fresh” (never frozen) is better.

But here’s the reality—

Even if you buy beef fresh from a counter, unless you’re cooking it right away, it’s going in your freezer at home anyway.

So it’s not about if it gets frozen.
It’s about when.

At Midwest Prime Farms, we freeze our beef right at peak freshness and quality so when you thaw it, you’re getting it at its best.

There’s also a practical side to it.

When you process a whole beef, that’s hundreds of pounds of meat at one time.

Fresh beef only lasts about 3–5 days in the refrigerator, so keeping a “fresh” counter stocked would mean letting that beef sit.

That’s not how we choose to do things.

Instead, everything is frozen at its peak so you can grab what you need and use it when it works for you.

Stop in and stock your freezer this week—we’ve got it ready for you.
